Hoverboard Injuries are growing

I read this article https://www.cbsnews.com/news/hoverboard-injuries-26000-children-hurt-in-first-2-years-of-sale/ and it really alerted me to be more careful on the roads with my hoverboard.

Kids are riding the board and all of suddens the battery blow up and kids end up in the emergency room. Not good.

My question is, is the hoverboard safe to ride in 2019? Some say no and some say yes.

Well, it looks like the hoverboard manufacturers are now taking the safety to another level and making the batteries certified. Myselftransport website states, “So, if you or anyone you know is considering buying a self-balancing scooter, My Self Transport highly recommends making sure the board you are looking at is UL 2272 certified.”

I am not too sure about what UL 2272 certification is but I am going to do some more research.

Going back to the first article, the injuries can occur with anything. Right? Car, Bicycle, skateboard, and etc. These transportations have been with us so long and people don’t talk about the injuries that occur everyday. The hoverboards are growing and it’s getting more attention. I think the hoverboard is just safe as riding skateboard.
